Jukka Hannola has been appointed Director-General of Civil Aviation at the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom. Hannola holds a Master of Administrative Sciences degree and is a qualified air traffic controller.

Hannola has nearly 15 years of experience in aviation authority duties at Traficom and its predecessor agency, the Finnish Transport Safety Agency Trafi. During his aviation career, he has also worked as an air traffic controller and for an airline. He moves to the position of Director-General of Civil Aviation from the post of Head of Department at Traficom’s Aviation Operations Department.
Hannola took up the position on 1 February 2026.
